The new television season is getting underway and I have to say I'm pretty excited about it this year. After a summer of re-run marathons, I'm ready for some fresh new episodes. I'm especially looking forward to the return of House (FOX, Monday 8/7c), Bones (FOX, Thur. 8/7c), and Dexter (Showtime, see listings).
These are MY shows. I'm invested in the characters and their relationships with each other. I feel like I know them- not in a creepy "the man in the television is talking to me" kind of way, but more like a child's favorite teddy bear. It's soothing to me to watch the tension between Cuddy and House or the affection between Brennen and Booth (although if they end up becoming romantically involved I'll be very disappointed. I really like that they have an intimately close relationship without having romance).
Don't get me wrong. I'm perfectly willing to sit through back to back to back re-runs of pretty much every flavor of cop/doctor drama TNT can throw at me, it'll just be nice to finally have a continuation of the stories.

The NFL's Favorite Family
If they haven't already, It is my contention that the Mannings will at some point surpass the Kennedys as the most beloved American family of all time. Last year's Super Bowl between the Saints, Archie's former team, and Peyton's Colts as well as tonight's Colts vs Giants match-up (promoted as the Manning bowl) on Sunday Night Football has given sports news outlets an opportunity to highlight the all-American family's three football stars and two Super Bowl MVP's. In addition to pre-game interviews with the endearing Manning parents and home videos of the boys playing together in the front yard, there are a variety of commercials portraying Peyton and Eli as typical brothers who both support each other and compete with each other- and sometimes lock each other in a closet. Their ability to present themselves as humble and even "run of the mill" adds to the charm. I personally love watching both of the Manning brothers on the field and in commercials and I hope that future generations of Mannings are just as talented and charismatic.
Oh yeah.. I have a blog!
Obviously I haven't been a very active poster this last year or so. I plan to integrate the blog into my website so I should be updating more frequently but you may notice that my posts are quite a bit less verbose and mostly just include links to and commentary on the random stuff I come across while trolling around on the internet. Embedded images or videos will be work-friendly and I'll be sure to post a warning on any links that are NSFW.
